Day 178. January 31, 2014. Back to Hill Country, Texas

We dropped Alexis off at the Austin airport and went back to our friend Heather's house (from St. Paul, MN, wintering in Austin).  We drove to meet Heather's sister in the Hill Country.   We had lunch sitting in  a restaurant!s outside patio...Divine weather today.  George ordered their Devil's Breath hot sauce.  He had to sign a waiver as it was so hot!
While Heather and her sister did some business, George and I strolled around the cute town.  Then, we relaxed along the river.  One of us REALLY relaxed!

Then we drove out to Heather's sister's house.  She converted an abandoned shack into a modest house...teeny without running water or heat.  Really impressive all the work she has done
On our way back to Austin, we stopped at a farmhouse brewery called Jester King.  It is a beautiful setting.  There are picnic tables scattered around the property.  Lots of families, dogs.  It is only open on weekends, so we were lucky.  Heather had a Texas sake, I had IPA, and George had their stout.  Here are the drinks with the sunset in the background.
They also have an outdoor pizza oven, and we shared a wild boar pizza.  Very different....lots of garlic.
