LOCATION: Near Traverse City in NW Michigan
WEATHER: Another picture-perfect fall day. Highs in 60s
Tony and Jenny went to town to do laundry. We worked on the internet. George found out that he has to return to Mayo Clinic for some tests, so we are adjusting our route to go to Rochester via the Upper Peninsula.
When they returned, we took off for Traverse City. We had lunch at Right Brain Brewery, named one of the nation's top 5 brewpubs. We had burgers and beer. There were 5 IPAs from which to choose!
The brewery has funky chairs including this one from a nursing home. Looks like George has been on steroids!
We drove to the port and saw the 4 tall ships on display.
We stopped at Terra Firma Brewery, a farm operation, on our way back to the campground. Another IPA for me, and a Porter for George.
Back at the campground, we got our cars packed up to prepare for tomorrow's departure. It is supposed to rain, so best to do everything we can now.
DINNER: Another communal dinner, this time with a Mexican twist. Tony prepared his family's guacamole recipe. I boned the leftover chicken thighs ($3 for 8 huge ones), and cooked them with onions, garlic, lime juice, and chipotle sauce. Rice on the side. Delicioso!
