December 17, 2014. Belgian beer

Today was a break between the 3 days of wedding celebrations.  The in-laws were busy running errands, so we thought we would go out, to get out of their hair.

Gautham found us a Belgian beer bar online.  We (Alexis, George and I) took a cab.   It is located across town, about 10 miles, but 1 1/2 hours to get there due to traffic.  The cab driver was quite nervous....he couldn't speak English and also didn't know the exact location of the restaurant.  He really liked his car horn, and laid  on it almost the entire trip.  At one point, the driver started singing.  Fun!

The bar was so incongruous compared to other restaurants/bars.  The only beer generally available in India is Kingfisher, which is kind of like Bud Light.  George is not thrilled.  The Belgian beer, however, was great.

We split a veg mini pizza and had an Indian chickpea appetizer.  The bar is located on an area popular with expats, although we didn't see any.

On the way home, there weren't any cabs available so we hailed a tuk-tuk, the 3-wheel auto rickshaw which is so common.  This driver was a little apprehensive, too.  He also sang as he drove.  Great fun!

George and Alexis donned bandanas around their noses to keep the diesel pollution out.
