January 13, 2015. More oysters!

CAMPGROUND:  4th night at Isla Blanca
WEATHER:  Another dreary day. Cold, rain. Highs in 40s

After tinkering around the camper in the AM, we rewarded ourselves with a lunch outing.  We drove over the bridge to the mainland to an oyster bar that was highly recommended.

It is a Mexican seafood store/restaurant.  A real hole-in-the-wall.  You walk through a convenience store/seafood shop to the restaurant in back.  Super friendly Mexican staff.  The clientele were interesting....Winter Texans (northern snowbirds like us), Mexican workers, and the back room full of Border Patrol guys.  Really inexpensive, too.  We split a half pound oyster cocktail.  There were so many oysters that we thought they made a mistake and gave us the full pound version.  It was made of raw oysters covered with their homemade pico de gallo sauce.  Then, we split a crab-filled fried jalapeño. Muy delicioso!

Back at the camper, we braved the elements and took a long walk around the park.

DINNER:  Using some of the leftover grilled chicken, I made an Italian dish.....chicken in a spaghetti sauce with veggies.  I served it with grilled polenta patties.  Paired with a nice Malbec from Argentina.
