After unhitching the trailer, we took a scenic drive through the park, stopping at every scenic viewpoint. The scenery is indescribable. We ascended to 9000 feet, where it was really cold and blustery. Here is George frowning in the wind at one stop.
This one is called Natural Bridge. Note the snow on the cliffs.
At the last stop, George wanted to hike the trail to see 1700-year-old bristle cone pines that grow only there. We started the hike, but had to turn around as the trail was still covered with ice and snow.
We stopped at the Bryce Canyon Lodge to look around, preserved well from the 1920s. Lots of snow here.
DINNER: A cream sauce made with slices of leftover pork loin, onions and broccoli stems, served over some curly pasta.
One of the viewpoints is called Sunrise Point, and the tradition is to watch the sun rise from there. We didn't think it sounded too appealing to get up in 20-degree weather for this, so we went there tonight to watch the full moon rise. Beautiful!
