WEATHER: Beautiful. Sunny. Highs in 70s
We spent the day traveling around London on our all-day pass. We certainly got our money's worth. Our first destination was a section of town called "Little Venice". It is a posh area with beautiful homes along canals.
With its bridges and boats, it really does look like Venice.
George asked one of the resident house-boaters for a pub recommendation, and so we found ourselves enjoying a drink called Pimm's Cup in this cute pub.
Then, a tube ride to the Thames River area. Along with thousands of other tourists, we crossed Millenium Bridge with St. Paul's Cathedral in the background.
We passed by Shakespeare's Globe Theater.
We took the new "overground" (part of the tube underground system) to another location, because George wanted to try it out.
Finally, we walked around the London Bridge area, then to our train, and back home. Several of the smaller tube and train stations don't have escalators. It seems like we climbed thousands of steps. Our legs and feet were felling it!
DINNER: Creamy pasta with chicken. Still using the chicken that George grilled a few days ago.
Think George must have been cooking for an army lol when he cooked the meat.
ReplyDeleteHenley on Thames is another beautiful place, my grandparents lived there, and George Harrison of Beatles fame had a house there, an old Friary. Beautiful
