Day 274. May 6, 2014. Mayo Clinic day

LOCATION:  Rochester, MN, in SE part of Minnesota
WEATHER:  Pleasant, highs near 70

We both had medical appointments and lab work at Mayo Clinic.  After fasting, we enjoyed a nice soup and sandwich lunch.  We picked up my bike from the shop, where it had undergone a check-up, too.

We drove around a bit, running errands.  Rochester is famous for this corn cob shaped water tower.  For visitors  flying in, it is one if the first sights people see.  It is at the Seneca corn processing/canning plant

In the late PM, my former work department had a happy hour for me.  It was in a new underground "speak-easy" type pub.  It was so nice to check up on colleagues.

George's former work group had a party for  him at the same time.

Then, we joined our friends for dinner at a restaurant near where we are camping.

  1. I am not sure how famous the corn cob is. First I have ever heard about it. Being Rochester maybe it should be a big needle or maybe a stethoscope?
