June 6, 2015. More of exploring the Redwoods National Park

We drove along the bay in Crescent City.  When we got out of the car, we heard a cacophony of barking.  We realized it was sea lions.  Hundreds of them were playing near Castle Rock.

It is a bird refuge, too.

As we were stopped to watch the sea lions, these 2 roller derby babes skated by, practicing their skating.  Only in California!

On our way back to the campground, these elk were relaxing in a pasture.

Back at the campground, we took another hike.  The trail hasn't been maintained very well, so it seemed that we were walking through a jungle.  Too bad we didn't have our machete with us!

DINNER:  George cooked some thick bacon that we had bought at the Ukiah farmers' market, just to have on hand.  Bacon grease is a great campfire starter!  I cooked the second rabbit burger and toasted a baguette on the fire.  Side was broccoli with cheese.  George sneaked a bit of bacon on his burger, too.
