San a Francisco, part 2.....
Then on to Chinatown, Daniel, our friend, grew up there. This was his father's shop....Lau's Framing.
We stopped at one of their favorite restaurants. We shared 3 plates..... Chow fun, BBQ duck and beef, and Chinese vegetables.
Then, we walked around Chinatown, amazed at the variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs. We saw shops with dried herbs and foods, up to $1500/pound.
We saw ducks for sale, like we ate for lunch.
We went to a fun microbrewery called the Speakeasy, decorated like prohibition times. Then we drove through the Mission District and the Haight Ashbury section where we saw beautifully restored Victorian homes, and a few aging hippies.
Dinner was in a Vietnamese restaurant. We had Vietnamese spring rolls and pho. Stuffed!
