May 4, 2015. Rainy day in Dolores

CAMPGROUND: McPhee National Forest Service Campground.  Selected site with electricity.  Nice wooded sites. Decent bathrooms. No showers. 3 stars. $16/night
LOCATION:  Outside Dolores, Colorafo in SW Colorado
WEATHER:  In a word.....rain. Highs in 50s

We drove about 10 miles outside of Dolores to a very nice reservoir area.  The campground just opened for the season, so it is mostly empty.  We quickly got set-up between showers.  We took a short hike and saw several deer walking nonchalantly around.

We had a decadent lunch....some delicious gourmet cheese and salami I had found in the Dolores Market.

Even though we are way out in the country, we surprisingly get about 50 TV channels, likely because we are on a mountain top.  We watched PBS, read, and did computer work while it rained.

It cleared up enough to make a fire to cook dinner.

DINNER:  Spaghetti.  I used some  of the hamburger we had grilled yesterday, adding onions, spaghetti sauce, and garlic.  Side was sautéed summer squash.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow, too.  Good news......no leaks!
