May 8, 2015. Fork Fest in Ouray

CAMPGROUND: Another night at 4J.  Still not many RVs here
LOCATION: Ouray, Colorado in south central Colorado
WEATHER:  Rain on and off. Cool. Highs in 50s

We woke up to the dreaded "plop, plop" sound.  Yes, another leak!  This is so discouraging!  The red bucket to the rescue again......

We took a hike to Cascade Falls, next to Ouray.  This is one of 7 falls nearby.  We read that this river floods the town every 10 years or so.

Lunch was a veggie wrap at Ouray Brewery.  The bar stool are swings...

I spotted this yard full of dandelions and a flowering pear tree

We registered for Ouray's Fork Fest.  There is a restaurant crawl tonight.  Then on Saturday, a champagne brunch, cooking demonstrations all day, and then a wine and cheese pairing in the evening.

The restaurant crawl was fun.  About 10 restaurants on Ouray's Main Street participated. We walked, in the windy rain, to each place for a small plate and drink.  It was a great way to experience a lot of nice restaurants.

DINNER:  On the restaurant crawl we sampled......chicken wings, pork belly sliders, filet on a bed of mashed  potatoes with green peppercorn sauce (my favorite), smoked salmon, Reuben fritters, and meatballs.  A nice evening, and a fun way to support Ouray.
