WEATHER:  Cool!  Low about 40.  Highs in 70s
The 5:45 AM alarm kicked off the busy day.  We donned jackets as we scurried around preparing for the market......loading up, washing and spinning 6 pounds of salad.
We didn't know whether the market would be busy or not, since it is Labor Day weekend.  We were pleasantly surprised....having our best $ day yet. We had some novelties.....figs, Cape gooseberries, beautiful peppers, tomatillos, sun-dried fruits, and pee-wee tomatoes.
We did pretty well, except we only sold about half of our tomatoes.  Everyone is selling them, and there is a bit of a price war. One vendor reduced his price, so we followed suit.  Paola, our house-sit partner, sold some at one if the farm-to-table restaurants. Good entrepreneur!
After the market ended, we celebrated at our favorite bistro, Saucy.  They, too, buy locally.  Life is not all work!
We had IPAs and a veggie sandwich made with their wood-fired pizza dough.
We stopped at a so-so winery on our way home.  After a little rest, we  picked veg again and George made kale chips, as we sold out of them today.  I ran out of steam, and only picked a small amount of salad for tomorrow's market.  George found more ripe figs, which always sell well.
DINNER:  As a change of pace, dinner did not include tomatoes!  I made an Asian stir-fry with leftover pork and onions, simmered in sesame oil, ginger and garlic, and added some peas for a veg. Served with rice.  Back to tomato recipe tomorrow.
