April 3, 2016. Tasmania's East Coast Drive

CAMPGROUND:  Triabunna Tourist Park.  Small RV park. Outdoor kitchen. Great wifi.  Pay showers.  $23.  3 stars
LOCATION:  Triabunna, Tasmania, Australia, about 1 hour north of Hobart
WEATHER:  Nice. Highs in 60s.  Cold at night

We explored White Beach before leaving the RV park.  I can see how it got its name!

As I've mentioned, we are in Tasmania, compliments of a housesit in March, through Trusted Housesitters website.  When the homeowners returned from their holiday, they very generously loaned us their campervan to tour more of Tasmania.

We headed north at a leisurely pace, with only about 2 hours of driving.  We stopped at this apple orchard/vineyard/winery/oyster farm, attracted by this sign....

The farmer sold us a dozen shucked oysters for $7.50.  By far, the cheapest we have seen.  Then, he picked a lemon from his tree for the oysters.  We bought a bottle of his Pinot  Noir (no label so reduced price), and happily ate the oysters at a picnic table he had set up.  How wonderful!  We were the only ones there.

We are following the Eastern Drive route for the next few days.  It follows the eastern coast.  Lots of cute towns along the way.

We settled in Triabunna and walked around the town and harbor.  Then, we sat outside our camper and finished off our lunch bottle of Pinot Noir.  The RV park backs up to some houses.  As we were sitting there, the homeowner behind us called out to us and gave us some of his fresh-picked tomatoes.  How kind!

DINNER:  Red bell pepper soup to which I added sautéed onions and mushrooms.  Some of the French style cheese and wood-fired oven baked bread we had bought in Bruny Island.  Very gourmet!
