April 9, 2016. Gourmet lunch in downtown Adelaide

LOCATION:  House-sitting in Adelaide, Australia in southern part of mainland
WEATHER:  Very nice.  Highs around 70

The homeowners got an early start this morning, and now we are on our own with Mello, a 15-year-old silk terrier.

George spent time watching the Masters golf tournament on TV.  Mello liked it, too.....

Then, we went off on our first adventure around the city.  The free tram is just a few blocks away.  Our first stop was lunch.  I spotted chef Jamie Oliver's restaurant called Jamie's Italian, and we decided to check it out.

The restaurant itself is a converted 1800s bank building.  Beautiful open kitchen...

We shared a porcini pasta dish with an arugula salad.  Fantastic!

The waitress told us to check out the bathrooms.  They are in the former bank vault.  The actual toilets are the original Crappers....

We walked off our lunch strolling through the downtown mall.  In addition to lots of shops, there were sidewalk musicians, artists, and even this style show...

On our way home, we stumbled upon a brewpub just a few blocks from our house.  What a find!  We will definitely return.

DINNER:  Porkchops on grill.  Side of carrots with dill and butter.
