November 12, 2014. Sous chef!



Another day in Ann Arbor.  One of Meredith's jobs is to cook for a church each Wednesdsy.  She prepares a meal for about 70 church members and for 50 people in a homeless shelter that the church supports.  Cooking for 120 people is a lot!  

Here I am, getting ready for the day.

First, we went to the bulk food store, and bought an amazing quantity of food.  Then, on to the church.  They have a wonderful industrial sized kitchen to work in.  The menu was...baked chicken, glazed carrots, garlic/cheese mashed potatoes, salad with feta/cranberry dressing, pumpkin soup garnished with popcorn, and a cranberry parfait for dessert.  Everyone raved about her cooking.

The church members do most of the clean-up, but it was still 8:00 PM when we finished up.

Fir dinner, I made mushroom risotto.  Very good.  

One more day of cooking.....
