November 18, 2014. Shopping in Hyderabad

We are with Meredith's in laws another day, in Hyderabad.  They are so gracious.  This is the view from their apartment's rooftop

In the morning, Nagu, Meredith's father-in-law, took us downtown to shop for an adapter.  Here he is, getting into his car.  Every morning, a "chap" polishes everyone's car in the parking lot.

George was fascinated by all the electronic gear in this tiny shop.

For lunch, Bala, Meredith's mother-in-law, hired a cook to prepare us special foods Hyderabad-style.  In addition to rice, there is a bean dish, soup, lentil dish, and chutney.  All very tasty.

In the afternoon, we went back downtown, this time to buy clothes for George and me for the wedding.  They are traditional Indian dress.  We are to wear them on one of the wedding days, but not the day that Meredith wears her special sari, so as not to detract from her glory.

Back home, we relaxed and had puri for dinner, a puffed up naan with a lentil sauce.  It is a good thing that we like spicy food, as many dishes have a bit of a "kick".

Nagu oriented us to our upcoming trip.  Tomorrow we leave for a 3-week tour around northern India.  It is a combination of airplane, train, and car/driver trip.  Will be fun!
