July 21, 2015. Gourmet dining

LOCATION:  Ferndale, Michigan
WEATHER:  More of the same heat and humidity

We are making progress with the garden.  George spread mulch around the flowers.


Our muscles are so sore!


We quit around lunch time.  Meredith made a gourmet meal.....seared scallops cooked on a salt block, with a scallion pesto sauce.

In the afternoon, I got a haircut.  My stylist had lime green hair and arms covered with tattoos.  Interesting experience!  Then we went shopping for lilly pads for the koi pond.

Gautham took us to a distillery in town.  It is in a restored historic building.  We had interesting cocktails.

DINNER:  Another gourmet meal by chef Meredith.  Braised rabbit with potatoes, onions and mushrooms in a wine sauce.  Side was polenta slices and vegetables grilled on the BBQ.
