September 30, 2015. Roadhouse fun in Portland

PLOCATION:  House-sitting in Portland, Oregon
WEATHER:  Another beautiful fall day. Sunny. High about 75

George returned in the evening after getting the Airstream squared away.  He made a detour, stopping at Rogue Brewery in Newport for lunch.

We went to Cornelius Pass Roadhouse for a new-release IPA tasting.

This is one of the McMenamins Brewpubs.  This event was in the former roadhouse.

We got our McMenamins passport stamped twice, once for the special event, and once for stopping at The Woodshed, a whiskey/cigar bar that used to be a cow-milking shed when this was a farm.

We sat outside, near the fire ring, and talked to some locals about places to go.  Nice fall evening!

DINNER:  Back at the house, I made shrimp burgers, using a Jacques Pepin recipe.  I just diced up the shrimp fine and added minced chives.  Make into patties and sautée in butter.  Serve over a bed of sautéed zucchini.  Really good!
