December 4, 2015. Dim sum in San Francisco Bay Area

LOCATION:  With friends in San Mateo, California, in San Francisco Bay Area
WEATHER:  Sunny.  Highs in 60s

We awoke to beautiful sunshine and warmth in Stockton.  We opened all windows to get in some fresh air.  We luxuriated in the RV park's nice showers, then took off for the Bay area.  Our destination was San Mateo, to visit friends we met on the road.

It was only about a 2-hour drive, and traffic wasn't too bad.  We crossed the long San Mateo Bridge.

As soon as we arrived and got the Airstream parked, we took off for lunch.  They took us to one of their favorite Dim Sum restaurants.  It was full of Chinese diners, a good sign.   This is one of the menus....

We told our friends that we like everything, and they ordered for the table.  Lots and lots of food started to arrive at the table.....

We met Daniel and Minnie camping in a state park in Texas.  Then, we went to Big Bend National Park together, then met again in Alaska.

Some of the (10) dishes we enjoyed are....fried turnip cake with sauce in a rice nest, shrimp dumpling, shiu mai, bean curd roll with pork, sticky rice in lotus leaf, baked BBQ pork bun, and of course, chicken feet!  ........

We seemed to eat for hours, washing in down with endless pots of tea.

We spent the afternoon catching up on each other's travels since we were last together when they visited us at the organic farm where we house-sat.

Suddenly it was 8:00 already.  We jumped in the car snd went to a nearby ramen noodle shop for dinner.

We sat at the bar and talked with the owner.  Most of the customers here were Japanese, another good sign.  I spotted a Japanese grocery store across the street.  Love it!
