WEATHER: Another nice day. High around 80
George picked miniature tomatoes called "pee-wees." I stemmed and cleaned them. We will sell them at the farmers' market this weekend with the salad mix. Very tedious work! See how tiny they are compared to a penny...
George made himself a BLT for lunch with a freshly-picked heirloom tomato. We eat the veg and fruit with bug holes that won't sell.
The homeowners are building a little cabin on their property to rent to people who are looking for a rustic, back-to-nature getaway. George arranged all the electrical cords for them.
After it cooled down in the late afternoon, we went to the orchard area to see if any fruit is ready to be picked. We picked a few Asian pears (nashi in Japanese) and some almonds. I've never picked almonds before! There are apples, pears and peaches still ripening.
The homeowner Bill was an astro-physicist before going into organic farming, so he has neat telescopes and binoculars. We set up the telescope to watch the meteor shower tonight, predicted to be at its peak.
DINNER: Shrimp and grits. Side of sautéed greens, left from last weekend's market.
