WEATHER: Perfect again. Highs mid-70s
Today's destination was a wildlife park outside of town. We figured out bus transportation. It took us 1.5 hours, catching 3 different buses, to get there. The bus drivers are so helpful.
The park is in Adelaide Hills, set high above the city. The first thing we encountered were hundreds of these this rat-like animals that run around everywhere, begging for food. They are called potoroos, a kind of marsupial.
People think they are cute (not me). We even saw one with a baby in its pouch. As I was taking a picture, one crawled up on top of my sandal. I screamed bloody murder!
On to the kangaroos.....hundreds of them in different sizes. George fed this mother and her joey...
We bought "roo food" to feed them..
Next up were emus...

ReplyDeleteHave you had kangaroo tail? I hear it's delish and good for you. Also, the emu eat some kind of berry. It germinates inside them and they poop it out. A delicacy.
