Day 210. March 4, 2014. Mardi Gras!

LOCATION: another day in Kerrville, about 50 miles NW  of San Antonio

WEATHER:  warming up.  High around 50

We went into town to explore the historic downtown area.  They were preparing for a Mardi Gras Celebration tonight, decorating and closing streets for a street party.

We had lunch in a great little wine bar called Grape Juice.  They also serve many craft beers, and have an interesting menu.  We had antelope sliders with chimichurri and goat cheese.  Out of this world!

We hiked and biked around the campground and met new neighbors from Manitoba.  They are traveling with 3 Pomeranian dogs.  The male and female had a litter of 5 puppies while they were on the road.  So cute!  Now 8 dogs!  I can't imagine.

We had seen a sign at the American Legion advertising a crawfish boil party for Fat Tuesday.  We decided to check it out.

What a party!  There was an outdoor crawfish boiler.  A plate full of crawfish, boiled potatoes and corn  on the cob was $13.
It was really good!
We came back home and had some veggies.

  1. The sliders sounded good! Not sure about the crawfish - a lot of work for a little meat! I hope you had something better than Bud Lite with them.
