Day 211. March 5, 2014. Walk, wild game, and wine

LOCATION:  Another day in Kerrville, TX, about 50 miles NW of San Antonio

WEATHER: Cloudy in AM, sunny in PM.  High about 55

We hiked the trails at the campground, getting lost.  We picked up some logs for the campfire.  Really got a lot of exercise carrying that weight.

We had enjoyed Grape Juice Wine Bar so much yesterday, that we went back for lunch.  It is such a great set-up ...with wine for retail, a wine club, and the restaurant and wine/craft beer bar.

The owner knows a lot about wine and changes the wine listing daily
Lots of unusual wines in the retail section.
We sat at the bar which has a big beer cooler, with brews changing often
We had another wonderful meal....Texas quail tacos with jalapeño slaw, queso fresco, and a lime/cilantro cream sauce.
Like the antelope we had  yesterday, the quail and other foods are sourced locally.  The tables are set up with curtains creating  privacy

They asked if we would be back, since we are such good customers.  Back at the campsite, we made a big fire, with the logs we had gathered this AM, and some  driftwood we had picked up previously.  We grilled pork/venison sausage and I served it with leftover tortellini and steamed broccoli.
