February 1, 2015. Super Bowl at The Beast

CAMPGROUND:  Turquoise Valley RV Park and Golf Course.  Nice, commercial park. Great laundry, bathrooms, full hook-ups, recreation center, and even a clothesline!  $127/week.  5 stars
LOCATION:  About 1/2 mile from Mexican border near Bisbee, Arizona in south central Arizona.
WEATHER:  Very pleasant.  Sun at last! Highs around 60

We drove about 5 miles south from the Queen Mine RV Park in Bisbee to Turquoise Valley.  We will stay here at least a week and use it as a base to explore the area.  There is a gem show in Tucson, filling up campgrounds and RV parks in that area.

Most of the people at this RV park are snowbirds, spending 3-6 months here.  Most are golfers, as the course is right across the street.  The people are super friendly.  One neighbor made sure we knew about the weekly pot lucks on Mondays.  We walked over to the clubhouse to pay.  There is a nice bar and restaurant there with lots of activities.  We had Caesars, their Sunday special, supposedly the national drink of Canada!  We think we will like it here.  Our neighbor has one of the biggest rigs we have seen.  It dwarfs our truck and trailer.....

We went to nearby The Beast Brewery for the game.  We had signed up to be judges for a half-time BBQ rib contest, but one of the contestant's ribs weren't cooked yet. :-(

DINNER:  After the game, I didn't feel like cooking, so we made a quick grilled meat and cheese sandwich, and watched Downton Abbey.
