February 9, 2015. Back to real camping!

CAMPGROUND: Picacho Peak State Park. Outstanding. Electric sites. Dump station. No water, but pump to fill tanks. Huge sites with firepits, space for tents plus paved site for RV.   Great bathrooms. Good TV and internet reception.  Communal kitchen sinks. 5 stars. $25/night
LOCATION: 40 miles NW of Tucson, in south central part of Arizona.
WEATHER: Beautiful.  Highs in low 80s

We packed up from Turquoise Valley and drove to Tucson through the high desert. We stopped to shop in Tucson.  Three items broke this week that we had to replace..electric cooler, hand vacuum, and French press.  Kind of strange that they all happened at the same time.

We arrived in beautiful Picacho Peak State Park.
It is nice to be back in a campground, rather than an RV park. There are stark mountains around us.  There are many different kinds of cacti in the park. Our site has its own saguaro cactus plant....

The site also has a ramada, a nice picnic table with shelter.  George set up the grill to make dinner.

DINNER:  Grilled porkchops, baked potatoes, and green peas.  Great!
