February 3, 2015. Wine-tasting in southern Arizona

CAMPGROUND:  Still at Turquoise Valley RV Park
WEATHER:  Another beautiful day. Sunny with highs around 70

We took a one-hour drive west toward the wine country, stopping to shop and eat lunch along the way.  We stumbled upon a very authentic German restaurant, and shared a sausage sampler.  It turns out that there is an Army base nearby and during WWII, the soldiers returned from Germany with wives and a taste for German food.  So, this town has a great bakery and restaurant.

On to wine country through desert mountains.

Lots of barren scenery.

The wines were pretty good.  We've been pleasantly surprised tasting Arizona wines.

We thought this winery had dead dogs in the yard, but they were just soaking up the sun.

This winery had made benches out of palettes, to use for outdoor parties. The mountains are beautiful in the background.

We bought avocados for .$25/each.  They are perfectly ripe.

DINNER:  Leftovers....pazole.  Last night's Indian tandoori chicken and rice.
