March 25, 2015. A scare in Las Vegas

LOCATION:  Las Vegas, Nevada
WEATHER: Beautiful. Highs in 70s

We are doing major spring cleaning in the camper.  George took in the truck for oil change, etc.  Everything is getting spruced up, for the next leg of our trip.

We had a scare today, but thankfully it turned out okay.  My uncle left for a short stroll through the neighborhood.  When he didn't return, we went out looking for him.  Then, we got in the car and made a wider circle, continuing the search.  After a few hours, we enlisted the help of the police.
A really friendly and helpful policeman called the missing person report in.  Then, he ordered a helicopter to search the area.  He gave me a list of hospitals to call.  He went to nearby areas, asking people.  Finally, after 3 hours, he was found.  We were so relieved.  Thank goodness it was not hot today.

In the evening, George grilled a feast on my cousin's outdoor kitchen.

DINNER:  Grilled shrimp on skewers with peppers, onions and mushrooms.  In another unsupervised moment at the grocery store earlier today, George bought clams and octopus  in addition to the shrimp he was instructed to buy.  He threw them on the grill, and they were a tasty addition.  I paired the seafood with rice, cooked in leftover chicken broth.

  1. George and unsupervised moments in the grocery store are getting to be a common thing :)
