March 28, 2015. Valley of Fire trip

LOCATION:  Staying at my cousin's house in Las Vegas, Nevada
WEATHER:  Sunny.  Another record-breaking high.  Around 92

We took a day trip to Valley of Fire State Park, about 50 miles from Las Vegas.  It has an interesting landscape and is known for its petroglyphs.

Curious George.....

The landscape has huge red rock formations.

We saw a big-horned sheep in the distance.

We had a picnic lunch in the park, then drove home via Lake Mead. Back home, we swam and read by the pool.

DINNER:  Fajitas.  George grilled marinated shrimp, onions and peppers.  We warmed up one of the leftover pork loins.  Served it with salsa on tortillas.  Muy bueno!
