Day 163. January 16, 2014. Last leg in Louisiana

We packed up at the Lake Fausse campground.  There are a lot more steps with the Airstream.  We finally left around noon, and stopped in our first town for lunch.  We had seafood gumbo.  Very good!

We are now at Palmetto Island State Park near Abbeville, only about one hour west from yesterday.  It is a beautiful campground with brand new bathrooms and free laundry.  We had planned to stay just 2 nights, but since it is so nice, we are going to try to extend.  We had forgotten that Monday is a holiday and campgrounds can fill up.  We'll see if they have sites available.  

We had a nice campfire and enjoyed the weather.  Highs in low 60s; lows around 40....perfect for camping.  Boring dinner...leftover chicken potato soup to which I added broccoli.  There are no nearby stores so we will be eating from our back-up food box for awhile.

We have electricity, water, wifi and good cell service....all for $9 per night!  We are getting spoiled.
