Day 174. January 27, 2014. Hill Country, Texas

We hiked around the state park where we are staying, west of Austin.   Then we drove a bit farther west toward Fredericksburg, a cute German town with lots of wineries and vineyards nearby.  We visited a few wineries. Their wines are actually quite good.

  We had lunch in town; shared a Mexican appetizer.  We stopped briefly at the LBJ ranch.  When we returned to the campground, it was too cold to start a campfire, so we hunkered down inside.  We had leftover tortilla soup and avocado toast. 

It is supposed to freeze and sleet tonight.  The campground host came around and told us they were turning off the water so the pipes won't  freeze.  We hope it warms up for the rest of Alexis's visit.
