September 15, 2015. Santa Rosa trip

LOCATION:  Organic farm near Ukiah, California in NW part of state
WEATHER:  Cooler. Highs around 70

We spent the morning doing last-minute cleaning.  George took this unflattering picture of me scrubbing the floor.

A neighbor came over and helped George get the back-up generator started to supplement the solar panels.

We had planned to pick up the homeowners in Santa Rosa at 9:00 PM.  They contacted us and said they would arrive in San Francisco instead at 9:00, Santa Rosa about midnight.  They didn't want us to wait around for them, so we took 2 cars to Santa Rosa.  Since we weren't in a rush, we stopped at a winery along the way for a picnic lunch.  The pigs and goats liked George.

This is harvest time.  We see big semi-trucks full of grapes, bring transported to wineries.  These containers are freshly-picked Sangiovese grapes.

After dropping off their car near the shuttle bus stop in Santa Rosa, we visited a home where we might housesit in November/December.  The owner is unsure of his dates, so we can't commit yet.

On our way home, we followed this shiny truck.  We were intrigued by our reflection from the rear.

DINNER:  I didn't want to mess up the kitchen, so we ate out on our way home.  We ate in a Nepalese restaurant.  Quite good.  We were the only customers.  I hope the nice owners make it.
