September 2, 2015. Cooling down in the farm

LOCATION:  On organic farm near Ukiah, California in NW part of state
WEATHER:  Nice and cool. Highs in 70s.  Needed jackets in the evening

George and Paola did watering today while I did indoor chores.  They found more ripe figs and zucchini.  We will wait until tomorrow to pick the tomatoes so that they are perfect for the weekend markets.

I spent some time corresponding with some friends from the Bay Area whom we met on the road a few weeks ago.  We are going to meet in Napa Valley next week for a day of picnicking and wine-tasting.

Sadly, we watched another big forest fire start up in the valley below us, about 40 miles away.  The smoke clouds kept getting bigger and bigger.  It is windy today, not good for fires.

DINNER:  Stuffed tomatoes. I found a delish recipe online with goat cheese, Parmesan cheese, panko, onions, basil and olive oil.  It turned our perfectly after baking about 30 minutes.  We also shared some steak leftover from grilling on the coast last week.  Toasted French bread and a Pinot Noir rounded out the dinner.
