We decided it was a good day for a drive. We drove through Corpus Christi to Padre Island National Seashore, checking it out for our possible next stop. Corpus Christi is a big oil refinery city and huge Naval base. We saw a gigantic aircraft carrier, the USS Lexington. We drove on to Mustang Island and Port Aransas. I counted about 25 cars with MN license plates. This must be a popular place for wintering......straight down Interstate 35.
What a difference sun and 15 degrees make! When we returned to the campground, it was just beautiful. George went fishing (no luck again), and I watched about 10 deer munching on grass next to our site.
George scrounged some firewood from the campers who left yesterday
We watched the sun set over the lake. For dinner, I made pasta with the onions and leftover rotisserie chicken. I added peas and a small dollop of cream cheese to create a light sauce.
