Today is warmer, and everybody is outside. We took a long walk along the beach and the adjoining campground. There are 600 sites! We planned to take a bike ride around the island, but my bike seat broke. So, we just relaxed here. Our neighbors embellished on the daily happy hour and arranged a potluck dinner to honor those with February birthdays. About 50 people came, bringing food and drink. The sun came out, and it was lovely. We just had snacks as we had dinner plans.
For dinner, we met up with an HR colleague I got to know when I was on the ASHHRA Board. She lives in nearby Harlingen. We ate at a great seafood restaurant on the bay, just steps from our camper. We talked with them about our tentative plans to travel by bus through Mexico to visit friends in Nicaragua. They cautioned us against doing it. So now, we are rethinking our plans.
