Day 189. February 11, 2014. Hibernating in South Padre

It is a cold, windy, rainy day.  To keep warm, we did laundry in a laundromat, then visited the museum.  We drove to the undeveloped north end of the island.  Sand was blowing across the road

We drove a little on the beach.  The surf was really pounding.

We stopped at the brewpub again for inexpensive oysters.  It was crowded with what they call us....Winter Texans.....everyone trying to find warmth.

Fir dinner, I made beans and rice with soy chorizo.  It is less greasy than the real chorizo, and has good flavor.  

Spent  the evening watching the Olympics.
