WEATHER: Beautiful day! Sunny. Highs in low 60s
We took advantage of the nice weather as a front, with rain and cold temps, is predicted later in the week. Our bikes have not been used much lately, and George consequently had to fill the tires.
We biked around the campground to the beach side. We walked out on the long fishing pier.
It was interesting to overhear conversations of fishermen on the pier. Based on the license plates in the parking lot, they are from Michigan, Ontario, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They were trying to outdo each other with stories about the weather back home. I heard "we had 41 degree F below zero this morning", and another saying, "we had 1 foot of snow last night", all gloating that they are here, not there.
Part of the campsites are right on the beach.
This area is famous for its birds. This white egret....
The seagulls were looking for scraps at the fish cleaning station...
There are also whooping cranes here that we have seen from afar.
DINNER: Still using the leftover grilled hamburger from a few days ago. I used it to make spaghetti. I added lots of vegetables to the sauce. Green salad and a baquette on the side.
Karmen, this is so COOL!! Lisa Lee shared this with me yesterday and I have been spending time catching up on your life in retirement ever since. I am not a bit suprised that this is what you are doing and I am so happy for you and George! I could not last more than a couple of weeks in a camper but I will enjoy living vicariously through the two of you. What a fantastic life experience for you both. My boyfriend, Eric, and I love to tour brewpubs, breweries and try new beers. I am excited to learn what you find. :) Have a great time, and thanks for sharing your life travels with us. Take care!
