Day 71. October 16, 2013

We went on an outing to visit beach towns south of here.  Ended up in North Myrtle Beach, SC.  George had gone fishing and golfing in this area when he was a kid.  Interesting to see the changes....high rises have replaced most little cottages.

We visited a winery.  Who knew that South Carolina would have decent wine!  Beautiful garden setting with live music.  Very pleasant.

George caught the big one at last!  After hours of fishing, see the huge catch!  (don't look too carefully, though...it's a fake)

For dinner, I made a pasta with grilled shrimp and scallops.  We went to a seafood shop and bought the ingredients.....

, fairly inexpensive.  Added kalamata olives, feta and artichoke hearts.  I made the sauce starting with broth made by sautéing shrimp shells in butter and white wine.   Easy and really adds nice flavor.
