We took some hikes along the Appalachian Trail, which is along our campground. Then to another national park lodge for lunch. It is the highest peak in the park. While we were inside, it started to snow! Very pretty! Three tour buses pulled in, so we decided to go elsewhere. We left the park and drove to a village in the valley. About 10degrees warmer. Found a great deli. Split a portobello sandwich with goat cheese.
This campsite is also serious about bears....see sign and food container.
It was cold again at dinner. Around the fire, we chatted with the other 2campers. One is a guy back-packing on the Trail. Another is a 90-year old guy traveling alone. We cooked soup over the campfire...canned chicken/veg and I added leftover stuffed baked potato and peas. Really hit the spot.
