Day 76. October 21, 2013. Another beautiful day in Shenandoah

Beautiful fall day..crisp and sunny.  We took a  4-mile hike that was supposed to be "moderately easy".  It was brutal... 2 miles straight down to a waterfall, then 2 miles back up.  Great exercise, though.  We had a picnic lunch afterwards...barbecue and coleslaw leftover from a BBQ shack in Winston-Salem.  North Carolina has a unique BBQ style...more vinegary than most.  Then we drove to Charlottesville, VA, home of Univ of VA.  Neat  college town.  We visited Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home.  Very nice tour.  Back to the campsite.  Wind really picked up.  In 30s at night.  Thank goodness for our heater!
