July 9, 2016. Enjoying last day in Sheffield quietly

LOCATION:  House-sitting in Sheffield, England
WEATHER:  Rain the AM.  partly sunny in PM. Highs in 60s

After morning chores, we walked up to another neighborhood pub.  Our intent was to visit a nearby village, but we couldn't find the right bus, so decided to just enjoy our neighborhood.  The neighborhood is called Wadsley, so we stopped at the very cozy Wadsley Jack pub.

It is very old.

Since we are in Yorkshire, we tried a Yorkshire pudding for lunch.  We had a choice of steak, sausage, liver or vegetarian.  It is kind of a breaded shell with one's choice of filling.

They were having a 2-4-1 special, so we also ordered bangers & mash.  All very traditional!

It was very cozy inside.  I imagine in winter that it is especially welcoming.

In the back, some customers were playing lawn bowling.

See next post for more photos from today
